Introducing the Michaël School Haarlemmermeer
The Michaël School is a Waldorf school and provides an inspiring education
for children from toddlers through to lower school. We focus on the individual.
We recognise every child is different and devote ourselves to inspiring each and
every pupil to achieve and be all they can. Not only in an academic sense, but
to equip them with the life skills they need. One of our strengths is that every teacher knows every pupil, which helps each child to feel secure and loved. The Michaël School Haarlemmermeer is part of the world’s largest network of independent schools. There are 985 schools and 1,500 early year centres, in 60 countries, teaching the Waldorf Steiner curriculum.
The aim of the Michaël School Haarlemmermeer
Through recognising and addressing the unique spirit of each child, Michaël School Haarlemmermeer aims to inspire in our pupils a capacity and enthusiasm to work, arising out of respect and care for the many wonders of the world, for fellow human beings and for oneself.
Walfdorf Education
The Waldorf Steiner curriculum is based on the work of Dr Rudolf Steiner, a well published and respected Austrian philosopher and scientist, who broke new ground in many areas of cultural, social and scientific thinking.
The Waldorf Curriculum focuses on the development of the unique spirit of individual children. It seeks to educate as a whole, encompassing the head, heart and hands. To attain academic achievement, respect for fellow individuals and creativity as well as striving to develop in each child their natural talents and abilities.
The broad-based Waldorf curriculum has been developed over the past 85 years. Subjects are linked together and not taught in isolation. This means that pupils develop a broader, more coherent understanding of the world we live in.
Waldorf education fosters a respect for childhood and an understanding of what children need in their journey from childhood to adulthood. It promotes human values, a comprehensive approach, and a balance between academic and creative thinking.
Waldorf education focuses on what is appropriate for both the pupil’s age and his or her individual needs. Each child is also encouraged to develop his or her most effective way of learning.
The Michaël School makes a difference, for children and their parents.
You and your children deserve that difference. Come in and learn more about us, and what we can do for your child. Register here for an introduction interview. We will contact you directly to make an appointment.
